About

The person behind the lab.

I'm Keegan Sullivan. I build things for small businesses — apps, automations, and occasionally entire tech stacks — and I help owners make sense of what technology can actually do for their operation.

I'm based in Greenville, SC. I run Sullivan Creative Co. — a photography, video, web, and brand agency — alongside a portfolio of 26 software projects in various states of completion. Some are live. Some are getting there. All of them are things I actually care about.

How this started

I didn't start as a developer. I started as a creative — photography, video, brand work — running Sullivan Creative Co. and learning the business side of things the slow way.

When AI tools became genuinely capable, I went deep on them. Not because I wanted to automate everything, but because I kept seeing the same problem: small business owners drowning in decisions about technology, being sold things they didn't need, and ending up with a pile of subscriptions and no system.

So I started building. An AI operations platform for service businesses (Handled). A membership and POS system for cigar lounges (AshTag). A lead enrichment tool. A content automation system. 26 projects in total — not because I'm trying to start 26 companies, but because building is how I learn, and each project taught me something about how technology actually fits into a real operation.

Keegareaux Labs is the umbrella for all of it. The place where I do the work, write about it honestly, and help other owners navigate it.

What I believe

Boring infrastructure is the product

The AI demo is a feature. The onboarding flow that works for a non-technical person at midnight — that's the product.

Tools are means, not ends

The stack doesn't matter. What matters is whether your customer can sign up, pay, and get value without you in the loop.

Build in public, learn in public

The projects that fail fast teach the most. I write about what breaks — not just what ships.

Small businesses deserve better

Most tech advice is written for startups. Small business owners need different things: less abstraction, more pragmatism, and someone who answers the phone.
